Your First Grey Hair That Worries You

Your First Grey Hair That Worries You

Premature greys are never a welcome sight! Having spotted your first grey hair is enough cause for worry. In a state of panic, make sure you don’t do the wrong things.

Stay away plucking that first grey hair

Plucking does traumatise the cuticle, which is not ideal and it can cause the new grey strand that will grow back to be shorter, making it stick out like a sore thumb. You may not like that. Right?

If you must, you can cut the grey hair very near the root. Again, you’ll have to keep on trimming it regularly until it falls off naturally.

Don’t ignore greys

Our genetic build up decides the onset of grey hair.Sometimes, greying can be the result of zinc or iron deficiency. So if you notice grey strands, too early for your age – it would be ideal to speak to a doctor or nutritionist and see if any dietary supplements required added in addition to eating healthy.

Avoid harmful coloring options

Don’t forget to research your color options. Harmful chemicals can damage your hair by triggering hair fall, so go for organic colours that are free of ammonia. Speak to your stylist about the various options and styles. Henna is also a great alternative to chemicals and permanent dyes.

Give Your Hair all the Care they Need

Once you spot greys, make the switch to a product that is more moisturising or specially designed for greying hair. Invest in hair conditioning products and avoid over-washing your hair as that can strip hair of its natural oils.
