“No matter how much I try to sync exercise into the daily routine, I am never able to continue it consistently” – How many of you have complained about the same? Every week? All year long?

Given the lifestyle we lead, many of us are not left with any spare time for exercise. The challenge to rejuvenate the body therefore is not simple. There are many of us who find it difficult to maintain a healthy balance between work and personal care. Then a different set of people talk about hectic work life and affirm that in the free time they like to binge watch. Thus, in a scenario when exercising daily is a limited option and a lesser priority, we have to consider other ways to address the issue of fitness and rejuvenation.

Are you Eating right?

National Institute of Nutrition, India, states the importance of eating right as- “Healthy weight is determined by a healthy diet” and rejuvenation depends much on healthy meal choices. So are you eating right? Exercise alone cannot ensure a fit and healthy body, nutritional supplements, dietary habits, mindful meditation are keys to achieve holistic wellness and rejuvenating our bodies.

In this blog, we have tried to address all dietary requirements for men and women who are keen to flush out toxins, take a wholesome diet while losing weight and rejuvenating the body.

Breakfast Choices: 

  • Almonds: Almonds can reduce “bad” LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol and oxidized LDL cholesterol. 
  • Dates: Dates are high in disease-fighting antioxidants, fiber and have exceptional nutritional values. Almonds & Dates, both are known to cut down hunger and promote weight loss as well.
  • Berries: One of the best ways to rejuvenate your body is to have a diet rich in anti-oxidants.  Berries serve the purpose well. As delicious they are, berries have a number of health benefits – lower oxidative stress, improve blood sugar and cholesterol, are good source of fiber, have many nutrients, improve skin, promote healthy arteries and can be added to any meal of the day.

  • Fibrous Fruits:  Keep fibrous and high-water content fruits as oranges, bananas, mangoes, guava and apples in diet plan. These small intakes encourage weight loss by keeping your hunger at bay. 
  • Dairy products: A good source of calcium, women must include dairy products in their meal choices. Skimmed milk has several benefits – checks Osteoporosis, build and maintain lean muscle, healthy teeth, promote weight loss and lowers cholesterol.

Lunch  & Dinner Choices:

  • Meat Poultry and Eggs: Meat and poultry play critical roles in building strong bodies and healthy brains. Be prudent with meat choices; opt for lean meat with no extra fat. Processed meat like bacon and ham should be limited while iron rich foods as red meat and egg yolks should be included in weekly dietary plans. Fish is a very good source of protein. Fish rich in Omega 3 like trout, tuna, salmon, cod liver, sardines etc are good for both men and women.
  • Other Sources of Protein: Other good sources of protein are beans and peas when eaten with wholegrain breads, rice or pasta.

Snacking 

  • Avoid oily or fried foods. Here’s a list of snacks that can help in your body rejuvenation program – Pumpkin seeds, Sprouts, Tofu salad, Dark Chocolate, flax seeds etc

The most important part of rejuvenation and weight loss diet is to eat measured meals. Every individual is advised to eat as per their Body Mass Index requirement (measure of body fat based on height and weight).The need to shed weight is not the only agenda, the need to feel good is.
