What is Hay Fever
Hay fever is an allergic reaction to outdoor pollens and molds. An allergic reaction occurs when the body overreacts to a foreign substance. This causes nasal congestion, itchy eyes, runny nose, and other symptoms. Hay fever occurs most often in spring. Symptoms tend to last a few weeks but may continue into summer or fall if you have other allergies, such as grass pollen or leaf mold. Medications to reduce swelling and inflammation and keep nasal passages clear relieve hay fever symptoms and may help prevent sinus infections.
