We all love the freshness and energy the bubbling fizzy drinks give us on a hot and humid day!

On some occasions, they become our savior! And needless to say, Indian parties are just incomplete without them. But are they as good as the burst of energy they give?

Soft drinks affect your body fluid in the same way as diarrhea does. They contain a high amount of sugar, that’s why it takes a lot of body fluid to process. This can lead you to feel endless thirst and can also weaken the immune system. 

Increases heart disease risk

Consumption of carbonated drinks has been linked with heart diseases as per studies, one of which says that drinking three cans of soft drinks a day can triple the risk of heart disease. Medical experts also say that having one or more carbonated drinks per day can cause heartburn at night. 

Raises the risk of cancer

Various cancers also lurk near the people who often have soft drinks. All those researches suggest that you can have pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer and many other types of cancers if your carbonated drink consumption is high. 

Causes obesity

Mother of diseases aka obesity loves carbonated drinks & you can learn it the hard way if your waistline is expanding and you are a soft drink addict! Some people go for diet soft drinks to stay in shape; however, diet versions cause three times more obesity in comparison to the non-diet ones.

Damages kidneys

Excessive consumption of carbonated drinks can also cause inflammation and can damage kidneys. According to healthcare experts, the sugar found in soft drinks impacts kidney function to be more specific. Hence, avoid carbonated drinks to ward-off kidney problems.

Weakens bones

Soft drinks contain phosphate acid which can melt nails in just 4 days. If your blood gets heavily contaminated with phosphate acid, then it is possible that it can remove calcium from your bones. As a result, your bones can become weak and more prone to fractures.

Hurts pregnant women

Pregnant women who drink lots of beverages are at an increased risk of giving birth prematurely as chemicals in soft drinks affect the womb. Furthermore, having carbonated drinks often during pregnancy can cause babies’ deaths even before they are born.  

Leads to diabetes

Carbonated drinks are loaded with sugar and can cause type 2 diabetes if you have them often. Moreover, you can suffer from fatty liver disease and your liver can get damaged if the consumption of such drinks stays higher.

Sweetened beverages can cause hyperactivity and can trouble brain health in various ways. What’s more, your digestive system may also bear the brunt of it. So, avoid soft drinks and go for water to stay hydrated. If you feel the urge to have cool drinks often, then have natural juices to ensure your wellness.
