Beauty has new sets of definitions where ‘Inclusivity’ is the new anthem. The latest debate is about – whether ageing signs require concealing or worn with fanfare in women e.g. the greying hair as one of them? While it could be entirely a matter of personal choice there is no denying the fact that the world is accepting and celebrating the so called beauty flaws thanks to twitter, fb campaigns, celebrity endorsements of a trend on and off.

In case you have chosen to keep your natural greys, here we go:

How many women shall be willing to embrace their natural grey hair?

Well, for  sure there would be a few for whom colouring their grey hair may not be their way. For some women, grey hair could be impactful wisdom, boosted self esteem and reason to be happy about them.

Are the natural greys any different?

While some women might find their greys soft and sublime others might complain of their grey and colorless hair strands coming across as drier, shaggier and frizzy. The reason could be the hair lacking in oil glands supplying them enough sebum that lubricates both the skin and hair in tandem, differing from person to person.

How  the hair do turn naturally grey?

As we age, melanin-the pigment that supplements the skin, hair and eyes with their respective colours deteriorates in its functioning. Thus, turning our hair colourless and grey. In some cases, our family genes, nutritional deficiencies or chronic illnesses like diabetes, anaemia combined with our faulty lifestyle exposes us to untimely greys.

I have this strange habit of plucking my grey strands

If you let the grey strands grow naturally they might not look so prominent. Plucking the greys would mean leaving shorter white strands to regrow at their own pace and add up to the awkward moments while the gaps fill. Your best option is to leave the whites untouched and not to pluck. Sometimes plucking might as well result in inflammation at the hair roots.

Any tips for my everyday maintenance of grey hair ?

Your grey hair might not require  anything more than a good shampoo and a color safe conditioner. Availing good hair spa occasionally too helps. Many beauty experts vouch for rinsing the greys with apple cider vinegar weekly and avoiding  smoky, heat treatments to them or using chemicals.
