Women love High Heels. No they don’t
How much did you spend on those sharp heeled lovely pink sandals that you clubbed with your off white cigarette pants? May be three times more of that you may end up spending on your hospital expenses. The cost of wearing high heels regularly…is quite high!
In this article we shall share with you a few disadvantages of wearing high heels. Having read them, you may like to shrink on your affection for those pink high heel sandals. We too strongly recommend you to prioritize your health always.
Painful Feet:
Stilettos or high heels do add a swagger to your stride. But later that swagger turns into foot aches, sharp pain in your toes, heel, sole, or arches.
Lower Backache and Spinal Curvature:
Healthy spine too is not in much favour of your high heels as they do not provide that ultimate support to your feet. Unequal weight distribution triggers off lower backache, sore and inflamed back.
High heels make the lower back arch out more than it is supposed. On a rule, your heels’ height is directly proportional to the degree of your back arch. This superficial arch can cause pain in your upper and lower back regions.
Sore Calves:
Wearing high heels lead to painful protruding veins which look awful in due course of time.
Various Foot and Tendon Deformities:
Your foot’s unnatural position in heels for long hours causes strain on the blood vessels, back and calves. It leads to various foot deformities- Hammertoe, Haglund’s Deformity, Morton’s Neuroma to name a few.
Be prepared to face tendon problems too if you wear your high heels. Typically, it might lead to Achilles tendon- altering the resting position of your ankle, making your foot point down more than usual that will cause you difficulty walking.
Painful Knees:
Awkward curvature of the leg placing unnecessary pressure on your knees might cause osteoarthritis and joint degeneration.
Sprained or Fractured Ankles:
Wearing high heels won’t help you tread the uneven surfaces. You are likely to slip and sprain your ankle. Not only that any fall with the heels on can cause bruises, aches and fractures. So, keep your high heels reserved only for special occasions…and do not do them everyday.
Constricted Blood Supply:
Ladies accustomed to wearing high heels are prone to their shoe shape squeezing their foot into an unnatural position that puts strain on their foot resulting in a constricted blood flow. In extreme situations, those blood vessels may break.
