Headaches are a common malady 

Several simple things can be done to ease the pain at home. Try these few handy tips and get better fast.

Apply a Cold Pack

Place a cold pack on forehead when the headache strikes. Keep a cold compress on head for 15 minutes, then take a break for another 15 minutes.

Use a Heating Pad or Hot Compress

If it is a tension headache, place a heating pad on the  neck or back of  head. And, if that a is a sinus headache, hold a warm cloth to the area that hurts.

Ease the Pressure on Scalp or Head

External compression headaches which are brought on by wearing a hat, headband, or tight swimming goggles- a tight pony tail  can be eased by releasing unwanted pressure on skull.

Keep the lights dim

Bright or flickering lights can cause migraine headaches. Keep windows covered  with blackout curtains during the day and use sunglasses outdoors. Add anti-glare screens to the  computer.

Chew no gum 

Chewing gum can hurt not just the jaw, but our  heads as well. The same is true for habit of chewing our fingernails, lips, the inside or our cheeks, or objects like pens.

Have some tea, coffee, or something with a little caffeine in it. Just do not exceed a cup or two a day.
