Never cut the Cuticles.

The skin is our body's largest organ and cuticles are the ends of the skin -- which are meant to be there to act as a barrier against bacterias. Cutting shall make the skin ragged and tear, expose the body to bacterias. Push cuticles back using an exfoliating and waterless treatment instead of cutting them off.

Never saw nails back and forth.

Check the  hands from every angle and file them from each outside edge toward the center of the nail. Never saw back and forth on the tip of the nail, as this will weaken nails.

Avoid using nails as Tools.

The white area, referred to as the stress area, will eventually weaken and break if we try using our nails like a pair of scissors.

Pay close attention to how we use nails.

Eat a well-balanced diet.

Add more proteins to the diet. That could mean more of  lean poultry, fish, chicken, as well as spinach and other vegetables that are rich in proteins.

Drinking lots of water is also important to keep nails and cuticles hydrated.

Don't pick away at old or chipped Nail Polish

If we apply very thin coats, letting the polish dry in between each layer so that the solvents evaporate, it will wear better and last longer.

Wear gloves when working with any kind of cleaning supplies for better hand care.

Use a minimum of Hand sanitiser.

Actually  the germ-fighting solution could be doing more harm than good. Apply it on the skin, but be careful not to put it on the nails.

Soap and Sanitisers have tendency to dry out the hands and the nails if we  not careful.
